Workflows are your complex processes, broken down into a templated list of tasks

Most of the tasks in healthcare are associated with processes — connected steps you probably know in your sleep. Sometimes these are in binders, sometimes they’re in inboxes, sometimes they’re locked in your brain and you do them without thinking.

Processes are represented in Dock as either Workflows or SmartFlows.

Any clinical event, encounter or touchpoint has a series of tasks, and those can be templated with workflows.

Workflows are frequent and recurring processes like new patient onboarding, evaluation protocols, prior auths and referrals. You’ll see a number of options in the workflow template library on the left menu bar.

On the left navigation bar, select the workflow library icon and click to “Create your first Workflow,” to begin the process.

Need inspiration? Within the workflow library you can search and discover administrative and operational workflows used by thousands of healthcare professionals nationwide. Double-click on one you like and customize it by assigning tasks to your teammates and patients and adding appropriate due dates.

Spend the initial time to set up your primary workflows now to save yourself hours and inefficiency down the line. Get inspiration from the Dock Community in our Ed Hub.

Once you put them into the Dock workflow library, they’re templates that you create once and can activate anytime you need — freeing up crucial headspace.

Dock’s secret sauce, the Smartflow, adds branching and the ability to create more nuanced “if this, then that” scenarios. Pro or Enterprise userscan access integrations with other systems and automations. Read more here (LINK).
