Intro to Subtasks

How and when to use subtasks

Updated yesterday

Complex tasks often need more structure to stay organized. That’s where subtasks come in. If you have smaller tasks that lead to a larger task, you can create as many subtasks as needed.

There are two ways to create subtasks:

  1. Creating subtasks with the Add Subtask icon

Hover your mouse over a Task until the Add Subtask button appears. Click this, and a new subtask will be created for you to name and assign.

  2. Creating Subtasks with the Task Drawer

Open the Task Drawer by clicking the Task, then scroll to the bottom of the drawer. You can enter a subtask name and add assignees, due dates, and everything else you can include in a task. Press Enter to finish creating your subtask.

It is important to note that tasks and subtasks work together! When a subtask is created, a dependency for completing this task has been created as well. This means that the task can be marked completed once the subtask is completed.
